QUOTE(sarcasm)
Dude, you never know when there could be a terrorist hiding under your bed or standing in a corner with a lampshade on his head disguised as a lamp.

I wonder if this would be crossing the line for anyone who thinks wiretapping without a warrant or oversight is just wonderful. I mean this is still the 4th amendment we are talking about and that amendment is over-rated anyways.

Don't let them see you cleaning or loading any unregistered guns.

well, it would be- except that is the thing that has point blank- no exageration, been said on these forums. a lot of the righties here are willing to give up anything, please note- not all but many, in the name of security. this is something i have run accross on numerous boards. it is an increased trust of government to protect.

there is a thread linked in my signature down there about the subject, although most righties avoided it. i would appreciate it if you would post your take on the issue there(its not a discussion thread so much as just a collection and survey of views)- this is particularly true if you are a rightie. i would love to see more people who are of that political persuation voice their opinions on the issue.

again, i pose the question:

why wont a rightie respond to this issue?

"when privacy is threatened- silence emerges."
what do you think- new GOP slogan?
jolietjake
They say they need this because there is not enough of police. Did it ever occur to these dumb sh*ts to hire more officers? BTW: Here's a low tech way for a criminal to beat this high tech surveillance; A ski mask, a ladder, and a spray can of black paint.

in my highschool years ago they started to use security cameras. the school was in the middle of the poor part of town. well, each camera watched the next one to secure them. that is, all except the first one. so, a guy stole that one, then the next one, then the one after that. he went straight down the line. no one ever saw him.

INGSOC

I agree, I read 1984 in the 70s. Tiime for a 'refresher' course.

"War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength."
-- George Orwell

"It was a cold, bright day in April and the clocks were striking thirteen."
-- George Orwell, "1984", first sentence.

i love that book. such a wonderful work of 'fiction'

With everything that has gone on over the last 5 years... it should be moved from 'fiction' to 'non-diction'.

Well if you put data mining that has been going on for years, most notably by your precious Google.com, if you put that in the same boat as a camera in every house, then you should be worried.

Personally if this camera thing went into effect I would leave the country. However I don’t see it happening. But you should have nothing to worry about, since democrats will be back in power at the end of this year.
