Full Version: Classic and Classy -- Maddow and Ridge Interview

Rachel just had the definitive interview -- an old-timey, tough, in-depth, but utterly decent interview with former governor, former Dept of Homeland Security secretary, Tom Ridge.

Rachel didn't rant (but a little), but at Ridge's most charming, she still had the "balls" to put him on the spot and ask him tough questions. On the turn-around, Ridge was vigorous in his defense, but not defensive, and gave thoroughly decent responses.

This was an interview along the lines of what news media _used_ to do.

Excellent, excellent, excellent, and kudos, Rachel Maddow! And, also, to Tom Ridge.

Thoroughly satisfying.

I caught a portion of it and thought it was really good as well. However I'm wondering how much of his decision to go on the show was courage, and how much was the desire to sell his book.

I watched it at about 2 am this morning. Great show! Classy is the word....

Yeah but if you watched tonight's show, she showed how he's already backpedaled from yesterday.

She pointed that out as well on the previous night's actual interview -- she put him on the spot on that point, during the interview. The following night she just showed how much he had backpedaled.

I wasn't praising Ridge for coming clean or falling in line with my point of view on that interview. That interview was contentious, but politely so, and on both sides, right or wrong, they held a decent, in-depth argument.

It was tone and depth of content that was a pleasure to hear.
