Michael Savage is a radio talk show host with the third largest listening audience in the United States. His 8.25 million listeners trail only Limbaugh and Hannity in size. In 2007, Talkers Magazine awarded Savage the publication's annual Freedom of Speech Award. UK Home Secretary Jacqui Smith announced that since last October, Savage has been on a list of 16 who will not be allowed to enter the British Isles. Included on the list are several Islamic terrorists and mass murderers. It is astounding that an American talk host who broadcasts within the guidelines of FCC regulations gets included in such a blacklist. In the United States unpopular speech is Constitutionally protected. Popular speech needs no protection. It is ironic free speech is punished in England; a country where the Magna Carta was created. Savage is persona non grata

I believe that he was banned as a promoter of hate. Having listened to him, I do get what the UK is driving at, but in that regard the list should be larger.
With all the callers that I have heard him cut off, talk over and berate for their views, I am surprised that Talker Magazine gave him the Freedom of Speech Award.. It seems to me that Savage's interest in "Free Speech" is that nobody does to him what he does to others.
Listen to him hang up instead of allowing free speech to others just yesterday in an interview on NPR...

One would think more pressing matters to Jacqui would be the 1,000,000 noted illegal aliens in the UK. If Savage wanted to fly to England to see Manchester United, would anyone even care or recognize him? The UK has a lot of problems (as we do) but banning people from visiting the country based on thought in addition to action seems to be a strange way of practicing Democracy.

As heard on the Ed show. Savage want Hillary Clinton's help to get off the banned person's list in the UK.
This Michael Savage
Savage told The Chronicle in an interview this morning that "I've been very harsh on Hillary and Bill (Clinton) over the years. But precisely for this reason, she should take my case. It would show that she can rise above partisan politics http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/nov05e...;entry_id=40105
Hillary should rise above partisan politics but it is perfectly fine for Weiner boy to wallow in it.

Its the usual cry from parasites like the Savage-Wiener. An outright BANNING seems that they visited this carefully in the UK. Has he provided sufficient evidence why Hillary Clinton should stand in his corner against another country's standard? He may be deranged.
After all, in the above he calls her dangerous - and all but calls her a literal whore. There are arrested REAL journalists that need attention elsewhere. Far more than an inflammatory book tour by a psycho like Wiener-Savage.
He could be a serial killer. There's some definite potential. Check his mental health records. He's espoused some very crazy things publicly trying to incite people. Did David Duke beg the state department to intercede too - when the Chechs detained him?
They maintain their own list. Just like the US maintains a list that contained Teddy Kennedy for years.
I say DON'T DO IT!!!! The UK is our ally. They will be safer without the Wiener-Savage. He has recourse:He should make his appeal to the government that banned him. They are a generally civilized lot.

the reason Mr. Savage is on the list is simple. He rails against Muslim terrorist, and this women is afraid to upset the ones that are in her country. I find it funny that Muslim clerics are allowed to spew their hate in the country and nothing is done to them and infarct the government has decided to allow them to set up their own courts. But Mr. Savage is a threat. The funny thing is that this silly politician crook just helped Mr. Savage gain a huge audience increase. I am sure that with the pending lawsuit this will make millions of dollars for Mr, Savage and his company. He should send her a thank you card when this is over because she just made bank for him.

Oh OK, to quote GWB, the UK 'is a sovereign nation', just like ... Pakistan!. Thank you GWB [sarcasm intended]. Most of you know the story, GWB said we could not go into Pakistan to get Bin Laden because Pakistan was a sovereign nation. NOW, what I still want to know is this:
WHAT IS THE CURRENT WORKING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE BIN LADEN FAMILY AND THE BUSH FAMILY???? We know the historic relationship, so we don't have to delve into that.
Michael Savage will just have to deal with his own legacy, by himself. Sorry Michael, you are nothing more than a hatemonger in the third degree. If the Brit's don't like you ... the Brit's don't like you. Simple.

I've listened to this guy quite a few times while I was driving home. He is very offensive, but forms his opinions well. At least for argument sake. Outlawing him from being able to enter England is troubling. Why not just go on his show and counter his claims?
I've called Hannity and pointed out his wrong points on two occasions.
Censorship and banning is scary stuff. I smell an Imam in the works somehow.

I tend to think this is an over reaction on UK's part. But their country and if they want to ban someone for free speech up to them. I have no sympathy for Savage being banned, but I doubt being banned matters to him much. He will most likely use this to gain ratings.

Near the end of the first hour, he said the following:
Now that I think about it, now that they've banned me, thank God. Who wants to go to that cesspool? Now that I think about it, who wants to go to a nation that's so degenerate? I used to look up to these people .... Imagine if they had to hold the battle of Britain now against the ME 109? These guys couldn't even drive a jeep over to the airfield, let alone fly a plane to defend their homeland.
"Thank God" they banned me, Savage said. Interesting.
