Remember 2006? It was a while back but there was a pretty extencively covered Congressional election. The Democrats won back both Houses of Congress. There were all sorts of nifty web resources where you could get in depth coverage on every race that was at all in question. I remember the NYT had the best coverage where you could actually see a colored Congressional House map (red, blue, and purple).
Ahh but now we have a Presidential race. The House isn't important any more. You can't get Congressional coverage of any quality on the NYT website, and their Presidential race coverage isn't actually that good either.
Why is it that the Congress was SOOO important 2 years ago, but barely warrents discussion today? I would love some resources if people have them, but so far the Congressional coverage I find has been lacking. Why is it that, without changing the Constitutional powers at all, the Congress can be relegated to irrelevency by the media every 2 years?
