First of all, let me say that I'm totally against this bail out. I believe that this bail out does nothing to change the problems that got us into this mess in the first place. 08ama voted for this bail out, knowing its not going to fix the problems that have gotten us into our current mess. In fairness I think he had no choice. If he didnt vote for it, he would have been painted as a radical socialist anti-american who wants to bring the economic system down and destroy the "American" way of life--this is what he far right was hoping for. They wanted him to oppose it. But 08ama played it smart. His entire campaign has been pretty brilliant and totally economical. By that, I mean he hasnt taken risky chances. He barely made it across the finish line ahead of Hillary in the primaries, but that just highlighted his sound judgement. He was in the drivers seat, after he systematically won those 15 (? was it 15) contests in a row, there was no way he could loose, even when Hillary threw the kitchen sink at him. He made the deals he had to make, and was very economical about the entire thing. He didnt panic, he kept his head, and knew that he held all the cards. He's in the same position right now against McCain, and there is no doubt in my mind he is going to win. The only thing that could beat 08ama right now would be if he'd make a huge political mistake--and voting against this bail out would have been a big political mistake.
So this all makes it sound like 08ama is simply just a crafty politician. Someone who understand the people and knows the boundaries. If that were the case, then I would respect 08ama on that level, sorta like I respect Rove's poltical acument. And I think 08ama may actually appeal to some republicans because of his poltical acument. Neo-cons admire that kind of thing. The difference is of course that people like Rove--and the neo-c0ns--are unethical, they are douche bags of the highest order. Whereas 08ama in not only a brilliant poltician, he is also actually a decent guy, he's a humanitarian, and he's fair-minded.
His entire career, from his days as a community organizer and beyond, he has been an example of everything that is Right about America--and about humanity in general. We can trust him.
So like many other folks, I'm not blamiming 08ama for voting for this bail-out. The assumption is that once he gets into office, he's gonna take care of business, straighten out our broke economic system and bring America back to the status of being a great nation. I believe in 08ama.
And on the day he gets sworn into office, I'm probablly going to weep. I've only wept two times in my adult life--the births of my two children, but I see no way that I'll be able to hold back the tears when I see him up there being sworn in. I'll say something that Michelle 08ama may have been critisized for, but for the first time in my life I will feel a great deal of pride about being an American.

I'm going to take some vacation and travel to D.C. for the Inauguration. I want to be there to see history made.

I'm sorry. The rabid non-voter who wishes to dissolve the Constitutional government says what?

Socialism is government interference in the market so supporting this bill makes him more socialist than the opposite, but I wouldn't expect you to understand. You did claim that creative design was science and didn't have anything to do with a creative being. blink.gif

That's cool. I cant afford it, plus I'm not big on crowds or extreme cold (january 20th right?) but this will be without a doubt the greatest moment in America during my lifetime. My two year old son has learned to say "obamba" after I bought him an obama pin at a farmers' market. I've put it on his jacket and he wears it everywhere. On the day that 0bama is sworn in I will feel so much better about my son's future (and my baby daughter's), and maybe that's why I'm gonna cry. I hope to watch the event live on TV and have my children by my side at that moment.

I know what socialism is Dawg, my point is that Right-wing wackos equate socialism with anti-americanism...

BTW, I never calimed creative design was science. I suggest you go back and actually read the thread...

blink.gif The making of history will definitely be solidified on Jan. 20. Obama is doing so well it may even be something of a landslide decision!! This so called "bailout" has some good points and some not so good.....and with an Obama presidency....this things can be made for the better......

A lot of people wept when George W. was sworn in, though for the most part for different reasons
