I enjoy the through provoking posts many of you write. Stumbling on to Ed's Show 2 1/2 years ago I haven't been able to turn it off and wish we could hear him 7 days a week. Looking forward to a winning Democratic election and a White Sox/Cubs WS; that isn't too much to ask is it? biggrin.gif

Right on Mark! Welcome to the board!

And an Obama win and more Dem seats in the Congress sounds good to me.

OTH, I am a LA Angels fan so White Sox in the WS, not so much. tongue.gif

Nice to see the Cubs do so well this year though! About time!

I work in the housing industry (been kinda slow lately) and in various volunteer roles at my church (Hanover Township Food Pantry). Spending 2 weeks in central Europe earlier this year was an eye opener as to how a government that serves the needs of society should really function

1) Accessible low cost public transportation
2) Healthcare for all
3) Roads and bridges with a minimum of potholes

Hopefully a Progressive Democratic victory will bring this type of positive change to this side of the Atlantic. Great to be here! smile.gif

Thanks for the welcome. Regarding the Cubs, anybody can have a bad century! laugh.gif

I believe the next several years aren't going to be good for the corporate welfare queens and the lackies they vote for. It's going to be an interesting next 6 weeks.

Welcome aboard!

Seems you've already found your way around!

Can't wait for the Halos to come to Wrigley in October!
Sorry they'll be in such a bad mood when they leave! smile.gif

It's all good! Anybody but the Yankees, right?!?!

The White Sox are melting down. Not going to happen. Go Northside!

Welcome, Chitown!
I was a Chitown resident for 44 years (Lake + Central, then Belmont + Damen), 'til I moved out here to the edge of civilization (Elgin). Proud to say that since I moved out here, I was instrumental, in my own little way, in replacing Jabba The Hastert with Rep. Bill Foster(14-IL), a Dem.
Again, welcome!

Hi, Mark!
I lived in Chicago for about six months way back when and graduated from Southern Illinois U at Carbondale and lived in the Greater Egypt area for three years. Most boring drive in the world? Chicago to Carbondale!
You're a long time member; how come we haven't heard from you? Nevermind... it was your job.
Hey, I like the Cubbies. I'm not that nuts about MLB - only when the playoffs come. What do you think of the proposed ban on the sale of booze after the 7th Inning Stretch when the Cubs are in the playoffs?
I stream Ed's show from WCPT 820 every day (not to mention everything from Steph Miller to Lionel - long day). Also love Family Values With An Oy Vey on Saturdays at noon.

"Family Values With An Oy Vey" is an EXCELLENT show.
I'm aquainted with "Joey" from the show. He owns an excellent little restaurant on Belmont Avenue.

Welcome "Mark from the Windy City" from Queteimporta from the windy city of Taipei where during yesterday's typhoon we experienced gusts of wind of up to 130 mph.
BTW, Tritumi------batten down the hatches. It's headed your way.

Joey's Brick House!!! I've decided to take a detour on my trip back from New York to Texas. A stop-over in Chicago and a visit to this excellent little restaurant.
Glad to know somebody who enjoys the craziness of this family as much as I do. I called in a couple of weeks ago, and got in to talk about "pickaninnies" with these odd balls. It was great fun....
Wonder if chitown and Mark and others in the Chicago area have given this show a go?
