I could only find one part of his show from last nite, posted on YouTube, but it's a theme he used a lot last nite. His point is that the economy is so poor, Republicans are running away from their party or being identified with the Republican party while running for office as Republicans. The first guest he had was a Republican Congressman along with Rep Wexler. Matthews used the sports analogy, "you take off your uniform" because they've run the game so poorly, he then asked "who's going to occupy the WH?" In other words, if McCain wins, as he runs away from identifying himself as a Republican, which party will occupy the WH? Matthews even pointed out no one said the word "Republican" at the Republican convention! They said the name "Bush" once.

Matthews slays! The only thing the Republicans say on television, no matter what the question is, "Obama wants to raise taxes" over and over and over. Matthews could have asked Cantor when he was elected to office "Obama wants to raise taxes." What Matthews did last nite was go to the heart of the whole reason why we can't afford another 4 years. Despite the truth, Republicans do anything and everything to deny the obvious.

I heard a little of Thom Hartmann's show yesterday. He said, we barely make anything anymore. The only thing we have to sell to other countries is debt, which is what happened last and this week. And, we had to guarantee our debt before we sold it! There's just one reason why other countries would even bother to buy our debt, and that's because oil trades in dollars, tho smart countries are moving away from trading in dollars. Once oil is no longer traded in dollars, we got nothing.

I have really been surprised at Matthews lately going against the GOP and actually making a lot of points we hear on progressive radio! I use to never watch him but lately - he's on our must watch list after Keith and Rachel.

Matthews runs hot and cold. Right now he can't ignore the truth. Republican economic policies have driven the country to bankruptcy. Thom Hartmann relates the current state of affairs to Grover Norquist's mantra:

Don't get too excited kiddies, on Tuesday; he called Obama "boring." Matthews is trying to walk away from the DNC tragedy that forced Brokaw to pimp slap both him and Olbermann up one side and down the other. Ever since, Chris is trying to pound both sides, giving the other a day off in between.

Mathews is a deep blue democrat, used to work for carter. He does his best to be Objective unlike most.

His lifelong dream is to be a US senator hence my sig line. I hope he runs in 2010 for spectors seat.

Yup, it's as if the Republican party no longer exists. ALL the campaign signs I've seen around here say GOP, not 1 Republican to be seen. The dolt running for governor (against the incumbent Democrat) in ALL his ads says GOP, NOT Republican.
