NEW YORK The arrival of tens of millions of DVDs of a controversial DVD on doorsteps around the nation -- but almost exclusively in election "swing states" -- via newspaper home delivery continues this weekend, with explanatory articles and subscriber feedback appearing on some of the papers' Web sites.

The DVDs of the 60-minute film, made in 2005, and titled "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West," arrived today with, among other papers, the Charlotte Observer and the News & Observer in Raleigh, with delivery with the Miami Herald and other papers set for Sunday. (To watch a clip see link below.)

The documentary showcases scenes of Muslim children being encouraged to become suicide bombers, interspersed with shots of Nazi rallies. 'The threat of Radical Islam is the most important issue facing us today,'' reads the sleeve of the DVD. ''But it's a topic that neither the presidential candidates nor the media are discussing openly. It's our responsibility to ensure we can all make an informed vote in November.''

It was shown on Fox News just before the 2006 mid-term elections, and conservative activist David Horowitz screened the film on college campuses during 2007. An article at the group's site, www.radicalislam.org, endorsed John McCain as the strongest candidate this past week, then was pulled down. The DVD carries on-screen text near the outset that it is not indicting most Muslims.

More race baiting, a skill the Republicans have honed to a fine "T." Terror, terror, be afraid people, be very afraid.

Got mine today wrapped in the fish wrap...just remind folks who suggested initially incursions into Pakistan
to seek and destroy the Al Qaeda leadership. And remind them who quipped "I don't know where he is, you know, I just don't spend much time on him..."

Obama started this debate long ago ...now the current resident is falling into line by acting as Obama had outlined (even though they are bungling the attempt and killing far too many innocents...but what do you expect of Republicans, they want push button wars and computer games/drones to fight for them).

This is an encouraging fact -- it didn't help them much then. And I don't think it will help much now. In any case, it is an easy issue to argue against, as Richard points out: the worst terrorism on our soils was carried out under the nose of a Republican't pResident. And his "war on terror" has been a bungled failure on all fronts -- even those he invented in order to illegally invade Iraq. And McSAME is, well... more of the SAME as Bush and company...

It is not surprizing that some on the right are returning to a campaign of fear in order to sell their candidate. It is disenheartening that those who hold a position of "impartiality" in our society would allow their newspapers to be used as a vehicle for such tactics. Our media is in sorry shape!! mad.gif

Speaking of emblems, this one is making a long overdue comeback. I have been sticking them up on many apropos spots recently.
