Caller who had an abortion after being raped.

An abortion is never an easy decision, and this woman is a living testament. I'm glad to know she's been able to move on, have two children and have a better life today.

I agree! Ed was obviously moved by her call. If only Mary's story were that isolated. Rapists don't use condoms or ask if you're taking birth control because RAPE isn't about SEX at all. It's about rage and power. Why should a person victimized in this way also have to go through nine months of pregnancy and give birth?
Could it be because of the laissez-faire attitude about rape among so many? If it's unavoidable just lie back and enjoy it! Who enjoys being raped? Maybe in some crap porn film, maybe in the minds of some who don't see the difference between rape and engaging in consentual sex - it's all sex to them!
I'm steaming mad!!!
By the same token, I think that the last caller had something profound to say. If we outlaw abortion, what will be the punishment? Death? For whom? The woman? The doctor who performs the abortion?
While everybody runs around saying, "Well, I'm not in favor of abortion and I'll never have one myself, so I don't care if Roe v Wade is overturned," are any of them thinking what the punishment is going to be when abortion becomes a crime????!!!!
Let's talk about that. Let's ask Pro-Life proponents what they propose as a punishment!!!!

Ed empowered her today which was incredibly generous of him. Women who are victimized, feel out of control, but by telling their story regain a sense of control. It was a small slice of listening in while he helped her to heal herself. It's a long road, a long process.

Great Point!!! Metaphically speaking, Isn't this what the repugs represent, rage, power, control......kinda like rapists of the nation and of the people they percieve powerless to them. Mccain/Palin national rapists. Hmmmmmmm interesting sign here.
