I had an experience that I just had to share here....I attended the Show @ the Denver Coliseum that was called the Tent State Music Fest and included:
The Flobots
The Coup
State Radio
Rage Against The Machine
& Special Guest, Wayne Kramer MC5
The FREE Concert was AWESOME!!!!!! and afterwards the Coliseum spilled into the streets for a march behind a couple formation of Troops from IVAW. The March was unbelieable as we marched to the
Pepsi Center thru the streets of my birth city.
I marched next to Timmy, the bassist from RATM and right behind Tom, Zack(RATM)&
Wayne Kramer.....What an Honor to march with this man, not to mention RATM & also Boots from the Coup......Absolutely INCREDIBLE.
I did get a chance to speak with Tom, Zack & Wayne a few times when the march was stopped.
As the march proceeded after being stopped and re-routed, it was ultimately diverted to an area dubbed...
the "FREEDOM CAGE"....well, I was Next to RATM the entire march and their security team informed them that the march was being diverted and I was privy to all of this information.
When RATM made the decision to bounce....I grabbed my nephew & we exited the march, right before the entrance to the "Freedom Cage". (Epitome of an OxyMoron?)
I was very glad to see no arrests were made & no problems arrose. The air was electric and
the tension was palatable.
I am Proud that I took part of this March & Honored that I got to march with the Men that I did.
