Storm could swamp GOP convention
By MIKE ALLEN & JONATHAN MARTIN | 8/27/08 4:45 PM EST

Planners of the Republican National Convention in St. Paul held emergency conversations Wednesday about what to do if a tropical storm continues on its track as a potential Category 3 hurricane threatening New Orleans.

Gustav’s projected path suggests possible landfall on the convention’s opening day — Labor Day.

After all, some of the weird holy rollers (was it Dobson?) wanted to "magic up"
a rainstorm to mess up the announcement tonight.

Perhaps God took issue with such shenanigans as praying for ill will?

as sad as it would be for those affected, the notion of hurricane reminders as the gop lie fest kicks off most certainly has the whiff of divine retribution.

I am astounded that one of these self-ordained holy leaders would have dared to say
something so arrogant.

It drums up the base, of course. It also rips the cover off their vindictive nature.
The ill will they harbor & think they can direct with a few prayers.

And then to shrug off their excess by calling it a "joke?"

This may wind up screwing up the Republican Convention, if anything.
Perhaps they should cower & quake.

And of course, we hope that all will be well in the gulf coast.

they say you should be careful what you wish for.
I believe that james dobson would like to burn dems at the stake.
