Actually... I heard him SAY the word on the air. It wasn't spelled out. Perhaps on your network or affiliate it was bleeped... on mine it was not. He said it loud and clear and I don't care if he was repeating something he thought he heard or not.

Wow... aren't you the judge-mental. I never said Ed was a racist I was simply stating my reaction towards Ed saying WHITE-NIGGER[size=7] over the air. It was appalling to hear that and I was also insinuating that if Imus can get canned for doing a bit based on a Spike Lee movie with the Nappy Headed Ho comment and Al Sharpton can go on this crusade to get the N word banned, then I just thought it was "low-rent" for Ed to haphazardly throw that word out.

The word "nigger" has to be taken into context. If Ed was referring to someone ELSE's use of the word, he was merely paraphrasing a word that person used and the context of its use. So John Lennon was a racist with his lyrics, "Women are the niggers of the world"?

I think Ed is on drugs because he yells so much almost like he can't hear anymore and I do believe that a side effect of popping the vico-oxy is hearing loss.

[devorah quickly puts on her Media Diva hat] Umm, Ed is a former sportscaster and a play-by-play guy from many years duration. Sometimes when he gets excited about a political topic, his old sportscaster voice re-emerges and he sounds kind of outraged. It happens. But most of the time, he's neither outraged nor furious nor excessively loud. And to my knowledge, he has NO history of drug use. You can look that up. Ed is just determined and he stands up for what he believes in, as any good progressive should. I find him quite professional-- Ed does a fine job being both up-beat and conversational. And yes, 8 years of the failed policies of this adminstration is enough to get anybody a bit outraged!
