It's not the message that bothers people. The message is great, and, IMO, it's an important message.
What bothers people is the sudden attempts by the rightists to build a new bandwagon, and then jump upon it.

I don't disagree with all that Dr.s Cosby and Poussiant have to say. I do think that their message does more to disadvatage African American kids than it will help them. I can see how people of good will could buy into their argument, and would certainly not label those who do as uninformed, ignorant, and certainly not as racists.

You are correct in that politics is not the only thing in life, but this sudden love that America's lowest common denominator- the right- has for people like MLK, Cosby, et al, is nothing more or less than a lame political game. OK Cosby looks back and forward and says to the world at large "Our community has bought into some real bad identifiers".
