Full Version: ED said Obama gave 2002 Iraq speech whe it was unpopular?

I doubt it. Anti-Iraq war was not unpopular in Illinois. Obama's Iraq 2002 speech was an easy "safe bet" in a friendly surrounding. One could hardly say "Obama threw his carrer on the line" with the Iraq 2002 speech.

Note Illinois is a heavy Democrat state:

what a buncha crap...when obama gave that speech, the repiggie slime machine was in overdrive trying to smear anyone opposed to the war as 'against the troops' or 'giving aid and comfort to the enemy'...

what a buncha crap.... 23 US Senators voted against Joint Resolution (H.J.Res. 114 ) Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002. Obama's name is not listed among them. For Obama to say he was against the war was hardly noticeable at the time. Obama was tucked away with his pillow in Illinois.
