If we don't ask ourselves the hard questions, you can be certain that the Lefties will. And they should. Dealing with difficult questions helps us to refine our understanding of the world about us and to fox our errors. These questions are for discussion. It seems critical to discuss the matter because of the division that our nation faces. So here's some questions to deal with:

1. Even with the WMD lie, was the cause just?

2. Would the UN's containment method have been capable of keeping Saddam Hussein from doing more harm in the future?

3. Is Israel safer because of the removal from power of one of the sources of hatred of Israel?

1. Even with the WMD lie, was the cause just?

I believe so. He may not have had them at the end, but he wanted them. Heaven knows what he shipped out of country before we got there. Is lusting for WMDs as bad as having them? No. But sometimes there's only one way to end the madness.

2. Would the UN's containment method have been capable of keeping Saddam Hussein from doing more harm in the future?

Has the UN's containment worked with North Korea? So far.... sort of. If you have a thorn in your side, put it out!

3. Is Israel safer because of the removal from power of one of the sources of hatred of Israel?

It is now less likely that the Iraelis will go off the deep end in a unilateral course of action that could tip the whole region into Chaos. Damning the Torpedoes isn't always the most prudent course of action. I believe that the Israelis are safer now.

Best Regards,

It seems critical to discuss the matter because of the division that our nation faces. So here's some questions to deal with:

I think the WMD thing was the way that W chose to make the population at large feel at risk and thus justfy his action. I believe that W believed that they were there otherwise you'd have to believe that W launched a preemptive invasion of another country based on a premis that he knew he could not prove and he knew he'd be called on - I don't believe that he'd do that. Aside: The "WMD lie" I believe is an inaccurate term.

As far as the cause being just, I hope it plays out in a way that it becomes clear to see - way to soon to judge

2. Would the UN's containment method have been capable of keeping Saddam Hussein from doing more harm in the future?

I don't think so. He was shooting at our planes, funding Hamas with his money to families of suicide bombers - I think you could argue that he was not contained very well - if at all. Left unchecked, who knows what nonsense he'd be capable of - 9/11 changed everything

3. Is Israel safer because of the removal from power of one of the sources of hatred of Israel?

I don't know about that, I do think that every two bit dictator is now on notice that it is incumbent on him to prove to us that he is not a threat to us. Something about the crazy cowboy with his hand on the button (in their eyes) that suits me.

Respectfully from the right,

Clark

Huh? No lie here. Everyone in the world, liberal or con thought he had them. Oh, we found some too.... never mind that though.

Honestly, who cares about them. We are safer now. That's what really matters.
