No possible way.

It would be interesting to see the justification for banning me, though. Not once have I questioned anyone's worth as a human being, which is more than I can say for some of the extremely bad attitudes behind much of the venting that takes place here.

So my questions have a tendency of exposing the hypocrisy of others, this I admit. We are all hypocrites to one extent or another, you know. I found ways of coping with my own hypocrisy a long time ago, and fortunately it wasn't through denial.

Lighten up, Chip. I know it's Monday morning and all, but please don't take it all so seriously. You have to know there's going to be a little good natured ball busting.

Considered it lightened. smile.gif

On a serious note, I see some trends in the left/right, liberal/conservative polarization of our society that I fear may transcend Bush's remaining time in office. There is a lot of anger behind some of the venting in both hemispheres of the blogosphere that is clearly more than good natured ball busting.

We even see it inside the Beltway, where politicians are less apt to socialize "after work."

On a personal note, I was prepared for Kerry to get elected and respected the rationale of those who voted for him. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who truly have absolutely no respect for those who voted for Bush.

There's more to people than what cars they drive, or that you think they drive. wink.gif

The hat was one of the last things my father-in-law gave me before he passed on. He loved to fish, too.

I'll give you that, Chip! I wear a white baseball cap inscribed with the Corona logo because I wanted a white cap and that was the only white cap I found at the corner store.
Some people would see me and think I drink Corona, but Busch doesn't have any caps at all.... laugh.gif Sallie

The Alliance had 1.4L with 4-speed. Red with grey plastic interior. Got it out the door for under $6k. 30+ mpg. With quick reflexes and power shifting I could take Escorts and 4-banger Cavaliers off the line. smile.gif

Ive known a couple people that owned them... in both cases... they would only start when they felt like it.

From what I recall they had a one piece interior that was to die for - literally! Yuk!

I'd do a Renault in a heartbeat. Also love the Volkswagen. I've also owned a 1967 Camaro (with something like 280 hp under the hood), a Chevy truck, a Peugot, and a whole lot of other cars that I've just stopped thinking about.
My first car was a 1950 MG-TD, for which I paid $500 and my father thought I'd been robbed. What a car! Right-hand drive, English-Racing-Car Green, leather interior. I loved that car! I was 18 years old and drove it packed to the gills, followed by my parents with more stuff, when I set off for college.
I don't think I'm exagerrating when I say that my car was a helluva lot more popular than I was, but the boys just didn't stop calling.... wink.gif Sallie

As long as we're totally OT here, what does the "cq" signify?

Communications Quality, or Correspondence Quality. Before I went back to teaching anthroplogy (two years ago), I was employed by a huge company as a technical writer. I wrote books and booklets for both the employees and the people using our services. I was a one-man-band and everything came back on me. Over-time, I came to be known as CQ Sallie. Got a question, ask CQ Sallie.
So, since I was known for years as cqsallie, I just adopted the name as my posting name.
Mystery no longer.... wink.gif Sallie

You're right. Consider me one of them.

Sorry Chip, but don't blame me for that sentiment, blame Bush.

Chip,

I had the '84 Renault Encore, which was a hatch-back version of the Alliance. Same color scheme/interior.
WORST CAR EVER!!! When it was two years old, I ran an ad in the paper trying to sell it, and people were actually calling me to make fun of the car/me for buying it !!! Someone finally bought it, but paid nowhere near what I was asking.
To be honest, the gas mileage was good.

You'd have probably had my fathers' heart had you ever met. His first car was a '67 Camaro and if you ask him about it, he'll still go on for hours.
