Dennis Kucinich is a leftie. Dennis' proposals were mostly the right ones.
Problem is, America lacks the education to realize it so I had to support a moderate like Dean, who had a chance at getting elected. If we consider Dean a radical leftist, America is in deeper trouble than I thought.

Reminds me of when Hubert Humphrey was a liberal...until he became LBJ's VP

yes america is in trouble but lets think about it they do not teach enonomics or political science in most high school these days. So all they get is spoon fed propaganda to base their vote and beliefs.

If you get told 200 times a day by halfwit Bush administration mouthpieces that someone is liberal or leftist or whatever, you start to believe it. It's quite an effective brainwashing technique.

I would imagine that most people in his homestate know how conservatively he handled the budget when he was Governor of Vermont.
But you're right.. the rightwing freenoid types, and a lot of the talking heads on the media do consider him a "radical leftist".
Good point hyp3crav3!!

I too supported Howard Dean. Unfortunately, he was not the preferred Democrat by the party insiders. This is sort of a dead horse that I keep kickin', but I do hold it against the Democratic party. I hope that the Democratic senators side with Feingold on this censure, otherwise they'll be alienating another group of tenuous party faithful. They will not win against the dirty-fighting Republicans by adhering to Marquis of Queensbury rules, while going head to head against those who deny such rules apply to them. Truly, they love it that the Dem's keep putting up their bare dukes, while they break out the brass knuckles. We need tough leaders. Damn the GOP torpedoes, full speed ahead.
Senators, Congressmen, forget your next election, lead for God's sake, and for America's. If you don't fight like this is your last chance, it probably will be.

Very good points in this thread. How the tag of far left liberal ever got hung on Dr. Dean mystifies me to this day. He is, without a doubt, a fiscal conservative. He has proven himself to be far more correct about what is going on in Iraq. I heard him talk about healthcare on the campaign trail and before the American Medical Association. The man definitely understands the healthcare field. If democrat insiders don't start getting in step with Dr. Dean's ideas, there will be a lot of people telling these insiders to get the hell out of the way.
We don't need any more triangulating, no more bringing a knife to a gunfight, and no more calculating egos. It's time to win hearts and minds and it's time to be shoulder to shoulder doing the right thing.

cowboy "D":
It's funny that you mention bringing a knife to a gunfight. While I was composing my post, I once had in there a reference to the famous Indiana Jones scene, where he brought the gun to the knife-fight. That theme sort of sums it up.
I was amazed at how quickly the GOP, liberal media, and Democratic party insiders, took down Dean. I had attended a fundraiser at the Hollywood House of Blues, where Howard was shown support by local politicians, Sheil Kuehl and Eric Garcetti. He was also supported by, if I recall correctly, Suzy and the Banshees, Rob Reiner (MC), and the group from "A Mighty Wind", with Harry Shearer. It was a great show, where Dean supporters showed real strength.
But alas, the press & company, made a fur coat out of a follicle when Howard let out his, what we in California call a "hoot". Maybe it was a "rebel yell". Whatever it was, it wasn't what it was made out to be. It's astounding what kind of garbage sticks to the minds of the American people. When those who were against Howard couldn't find a real vulnerability, they built one of their own. Regardless, today Howard Dean's contributions to the Democratic party are well thought out and easily embraced by me. Cheers.
