"The man who served as the no. 2 official in Saddam Hussein's air force says Iraq moved weapons of mass destruction into Syria before the war by loading the weapons into civilian aircraft in which the passenger seats were removed."

http://www.nysun.com/article/26514

What is going to be interesting, if this story pans out, is why the Bush administration did not stick to their guns.

Even if that is true (which I doubt) there is no support for a war with Syria right now.

Bush is the boy who cried wolf at this point.

Isn't the NY Sun another fine Rupert Murdoch publication? That makes me wonder about the veracity of this story. Also, if true, I think Mr. Runsfeld and Sir Richard would be all over this. My opinion: Just someone hawking a book in order to cash in on his name and connections.

that was claimed before. then the claims washed up. hardball claimed all sorts of programs, but nothing turned up. what did turn up was evidence that he destroyed them in the 90s.

On a side note Last night I was listening to a show from Salt lake city and a guest said that on Feb 18 their is going to be a meeting in Washinton where authenticated tapes of Sadaam will be played that are of him talking about WMDs as late as 2002. What will the left say if now that we are in the next election cycle it is proven that there were WMDs in Irag and 2 there in Syria now. Do you think that Dems that said Bush lied will regrett it when their words are used against them?

We will cross that bridge when we come to it. As I said before, if there was anything to this man's story, why aren't Rummy and Cheney on it?

We will just have to wait and see what Saddam has to say when/if the tape is played. If he just talks about WMDs, that is not proof that he had them. If he is laying out plans to move some to Syria, then we will just have to deal with that then. At this point, I continue to remember that administration officials told the world that we knew where the WMDs were. If that was the case, I would think that constant satellite surviellance would have been in place to keep track of them and that moving them would have been a large enough undertaking that it would have drawn notice. I also think that if he were taking the seats out of civilian aircraft, it would have required more than a few to move his stockpiles, and that would have drawn attention as well. As I said earlier we will just have to watch when/if this tape is made public.

There is not even much support for the war in Iraq right now, the American people will not be sold another war in the middle east based on the words of one ba'athist.

Maybe if Iraq hadn't been so poorly planned, lets be realistic for a moment, we are still in Afghanistan, Iran is getting real provocative, North Korea has been thumbing their nose at us for a while now.....

No more wild goose chases.

You shouldn't accuse anyone of being a Kool-aid drinker,Mr. Pitcher-this administration has lied and falsified so much that the public can't discern what the truth is.

U.S. investigators hunting for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq have found no evidence that such material was moved to Syria for safekeeping before the war, according to a final report of the investigation released yesterday

The Bush administration says it has no evidence that any of Iraq's alleged weapons of mass destruction had been hidden in neighbouring Syria. In an interview with WTVT-TV in Tampa, Florida, White House national security adviser Dr Condoleezza Rice defended pre-war intelligence on Iraq that Washington used to justify the invasion.

First the story was they moved them in trucks, now its planes. The inspectors however did find evidence that Saddam abandoned the programs in '91
