And that's why UAW members are refusing the concessionary contract.

Looks like cash-for-clunkers worked.

It is worth noting that only about 1/3 of that profit came from Ford's North American division.

Which just goes to show how silly it is to keep great EU products out of our market we could have had a US line to assemble the EU products of GM and Ford and kicked ass but no the marketing guys had their heads up wherever and big auto refused to work with the enviro lobby to to get sane regs on diesel so we could build or import high MPG products. I mean crap they are RACING diesel MB and Jags!

This will be interesting will ford still try to get concession from the union?
They prove they can make a profit with the current labor contract.
So there is no need to try.

If the CEO gets big raises and bonuses, then they shouldn't ask for any concessions from the workers.

Ford sold Jaguar last year because they were losing too much money on that brand.

looks like ford has hit in the FUSION

QUOTE
Ford Motor Co. said Thursday that its Fusion midsize sedan has already broken the model's annual sales record even though U.S. auto sales have dropped 25 percent.

Ford sold 151,137 Fusions through Wednesday, beating the full-year sales record of 149,552 set in 2007, the company said in a statement.

Fusion sales through the first 10 months of the year were up 15 percent from the same period in 2008, according to Autodata Corp.

The Fusion was the top-selling car made by a Detroit automaker through October.
