Sorry, another of my shameful plugs or shout outs? Link TV, CBS "Up to the Minute", "Now!" and even CurrentTv

Link TV a good independent TV channel available on cable (ch 375 Direct TV and ch 9410 DISH). When first aired some a couple of years ago Link TV mostly aired stories and music from the 3rd world. Around last Nov. or earlier I noticed the format changed to include democratic oriented shows like from DemocracyNow!

I just watched the "Iraq: Four More Years? – Part 2, The Oil Factor" from Feb 2007, which documents dominance over Iraq's oil as the primary reason for invading Iraq (and then Iran), and the subsequent incompetence leading to todays current violence. Such as, US troops guarding Iraq's oil fields instead of guarding Iraq's nuclear site and the fact that Iraq is located at the center of ME oil nations.

Link TV is entirely member supported and unlike PBS has no commercial sponsors. I don't know why LIink doesn't receive CPB funding.

Take a peek at http://linktv.com/

I often watch LinkTV and have been impressed with the variety of their programming. It is a very good source for alternative programming and often has interesting things on when there if nothing on the hundreds of other channel and cable networks.

I watch LinkTV often. I love the foreign music videos. I don’t understand most of the language, but find them interesting (kind of like why I like this Message Board). smile.gif

The whole thing in Iraq, including the effects of pulling out, is a direct result of going “in” in the first place.

I dvr'd "The Oil Factor" and "Iraq's Missing Billions" documentaries that aired Feb 2007 on Link. smile.gif

Both were biased against US administrations (1970-2004) but the video evidence documented should disgust even supporters. mad.gif For instance, "The Oil Factor" shows the permanent US bases built in Iraq, Afghanistan, Georgia, Kuwaitt, Ubekistan, Saudi Arabi, etc. parallel oil pipelines being built in the Balkans to the Black Sea and resources in the Middle East. "Iraq's Missing Billions" shows a badly refurbished hospital in southern and stable 2002 Iraq, leaking sewage into the operating room, kitchen area and no medical supplies. The missing $20 billion was Iraqi money withheld by the UN from the Oil for Food Program and frozen Iraqi bank accounts.

You should also drop in on Current TV. It's a little more diverse with shorter segments. A recent segment featured the inventors of the hug shirts, coming to a Sharper Image near you soon. Someone wearing the shirt can cell phone the hug to another wearer. In 5yrs, you'll feel movie zombies and ghosts grabbing you ohmy.gif when at the movies. Another showed Muslin life in French housing projects.
